Full job description
Domestic Plumbing and Heating engineers plan, install, service, commission and maintain all aspects of plumbing and heating systems. Domestic engineers can find themselves working inside and outside a property. Over the course of the traineeship, the learner will be trained to work independently without supervision in an efficient and safe manner. The learner can set out jobs from drawings and specifications and identify the necessary installation materials. Finally, they will be working towards industry standards and continuously showcasing positive health and safety practises.
Typical duties will include:
- Accurately measure, cut, bend and connect metal and plastic pipework,
- 1st and 2nd fix of plumbing systems,
- Waste, soil stacks and rainwater pipework,
- Commissioning/decommissioning of appliances and systems
Typical working week
Between 07:00 & 18:00, Monday to Friday. Weekends are optional, when available and required.
Person Specification
- Proactive approach, taking pride in their work and taking accountability for decisions.
- Ability to quickly prioritise tasks and the initiative to dive head-first into problem solving.
- No two days are the same, and not every day goes to plan, so you must be ready to respond!
- Excellent communication skills and enjoy working with multiple teams, and meeting new tradesmen & customers.
- Ability to visit different sites and training days.
- Willing to learn in a reactive and dynamic working environment.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Protect and care for customers property at all times.
- Able to understand and follow health and safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 or above.
- Access to transport would be advantageous.
- Hardworking and motivated.
Desired Requirements
The passion and commitment to become a fully qualified plumber / bathroom fitter. It will be advantageous if you have related work experience.
Eligibility
- Living in England for at least 3 years and have the right to work in the UK.
- No other employment.
